What you need:

  • Access to a 100-yard range
  • Rifle
  • Ammo
  • Shooting bags for stability
  • Allen wrench – depending on your scope

How to Bore Sight your Rifle:

  1. Set your rifle on a shooting table or bench. Make sure it’s solid by using shooting bags.
  2. Remove the bolt from the action.
  3. Zoom out on your scope as far as it will allow.
  4. Looking down the barrel of the rifle, find your target.
  5. Keeping the rifle set where it is, look through the scope. Identify where the crosshairs of your sight are in relation to the target you just acquired through your barrel.
  6. Adjust the turrets on your scope until the bullseye of your selected target is directly in the crosshairs. For Example: If your crosshairs above and to the left of your target, then you need to adjust your turrets up and to the left!
  7. Keep repeating steps 4-6 until you have your crosshairs lined up with your target. Zooming in to full power within 2-3 adjustments.
  8. Replace the bolt.
  9. Chamber a round and fire your rifle.
  10. Looking through the scope, identify where your bullet hit the target. Adjust your scope to follow that. For example, if your bullet it low and to the right of where you were aiming, adjust your turrets to move the crosshairs down and to the right.
  11. Chamber and fire another round.Repeat steps 10 & 11 until your rifle is dialed in. It should be within just a few shots.
